Things that did not surprise me:
1- People pretend to be someone else online.
2- There are a lot of dangers in the Internet.
3- Cyber bullying.
4- Abuse of Internet use.
5- Obsession with the Internet.
6- Amount of people online.
7- Teenagers being the most technologically forward.
8- Amount of sites available for entertainment.
9- Several different uses Internet has.
10- Kids hiding things they do on the Internet from parents.
11- Kids finding ways to bypass the security installed in computers by their parents.
12- Parents trying to protect said kids from all the harm that can be found online.
13- People who prey on others online, to make them feel horrible about their lives.
14- Parents blocking certain things and pages from their kid's computer.
15- How many people try to take action against something like cyber bullying, yet there are those who don't even give the cause a second thought.
Things that did surprise me:

5- How some of the people who committed suicide didn't show any warning signs in the actual world.
6- The ways in which kids bypass those security measures installed without a single thought about them.
7- The amount of worry some parents have about Internet usage.
8- The number of people out there that only want to harm others.
9- How some don't care about the dangers of the Internet.
10- How some of the people that have been warned about the dangers of the Internet still choose to use it recklessly.
11- Many people thinking that the Internet is a waste of ones time.
12- How people can become addicted to Internet so easily.
13- How not enough people care about online predators.
14- How some teenagers have no apparent modesty for themselves and just like to show others, who might I add, that they don't even know pictures of themselves in compromising positions.
15- How parents never know what their kids are doing online, know that there is something wrong or suspicious, yet they don't really do anything about it. They never take actions that will fix any problem there might be.
Things that have changed since this video was made:
1- Different websites are now used.
2- People are more aware of the dangers of the Internet.
3- Parents are more technology forward.
4- Internet security is more reliable now a days.
5- Blocks aren't as easy to bypass anymore.
6- Teenagers are more safe with their Internet usage.
7- I believe the amount of cyber bullying has increased since the making of the video.
8- People approach cyber bullying situations more cautiously.
9- There are support groups online and in person to help anyone who has or is being cyber bullied.
10- The Internet still has most of the same uses it did before.
11- Schools are taking the time to warn students about the dangers one can find online.
12- People are more careful while using the Internet.
13- More people join the cause against cyber bullying.
14- New organizations are being created to fight this war against cyber bullying and bullying in general.
15- Celebrities are some of the most prominent members who raise awareness of cyber bullying.
What topic in the video was most UNLIKE your own experiences online and why?
I feel like the stories we saw on online bullying in the video, are the ones that differ the most from my own experiences. I have never been or even felt slightly bullied online. Also, I don't think I would have let things get as far as they did, if I ever was in that kind of situation. If something remotely close to those stories happened to me, I would put a halt on it immediately. I pride myself in being able to intervene for myself when I feel it is necessary, and the fact that I don't take any lies or made up stories from anyone.
What advice do you have for parents about kids and being online (should they worry, what about, should they monitor you, why or why not, what should they do?)?
I have always felt that trust and honesty are the best policies one can have. I would say to them to, not monitor, but to try and get involved in their kids online life. Don't push them, that will only make them hide their lives more from you. Trust them. But, do keep an eye on them. If you feel as if something isn't right, or isn't the way it should be, then ask them about it. If they avoid the question, then I would recommend to take matters into your own hands and try to check up on what they are doing. Not everybody can recognize a cry for help, or ask for help in that matter.
What are the biggest benefits of being online, for you, personally?
I think that the biggest benefits for me, are those related to schoolwork and any assignment i have. Being able to look up anything I need for a school paper online, is far easier than what my mom had to do, and go to the library and look for the information in books. Also, another benefit I find quite important is the easy communication. My sister went to college in Argentina this year, and if it weren't for the Internet, then I would not be able to talk to her everyday, like I do know. There might be people who abuse o the Internet, but I don't think I could ever fit myself i that category. I still can´t wrap my head around the idea of bothering and humiliating someone so much, that it drives them to suicide.

Google Drive
What can you do in Google Drive?
There are three major things a person can do with Google Drive:
Collaborative editing- As most people know, you can create several different types of files, (word documents, power point presentations, spreadsheets, etc.), in Google Drive and then invite a person to that document you have created and allow them to make changes to it. This specific function is quite useful. In school, for example, when a teacher assigns a group project, and those in the group don't have the time to meet and work on the project together the they would have a simple solution. One of them could create a Google document and then send and invite to the rest of the group, that way, everyone can work on the project whenever they have some time without having to worry about missing any after school activities or any doctor's appointments they might have. Talking from personal experience, I can say that creating a Google document in Google life saved a project of mine. Me and my group partners weren't able to finish a project in the time we met to work together, and since that was the only time we were able to meet, we were freaking out. The project was due the next day and we didn't have it done. A friend suggested that we use Google Drive and finish the project at home while still working together. We all agreed that it was worth a shot. At first, I wasn't sure if it would be the best idea, but in the end, when I saw how easy and useful it was, those doubts disappeared from my mind and we were able to turn in a perfectly well done project.
File sharing- Even if you are not in a group project, you can still use the file sharing function. Instead of inviting a person and allowing them to make changes, you can just send them a file. Imagine you have to turn in an essay, what do you do? You print it out and turn it in of course. But, what if your printer broke down or was out of ink? Easy, just send the file to the teacher, and since he or she can't make any changes in the file, then it wouldn't have the risk of being accidentally erased. Something I really like about this is how it works through the internet so you can send it over any distance, no matter how small or how big it is. I think this quite helpful since my sister is in college. If I ever want to show, or send, her any document, all I have to do is send it through Google Drive.
Cloud storage- This is something that not many people know. Google Drive also works as a storage office. We all know how hard sending an email with an attached document can be, but fret not. If you ever find yourself in a pickle where an attached file doesn't want to load or is too big to be sent in an email, then use Google Drive. Say you have to turn in a document in class but you didn't have the chance to print it out. Don't worry about it, just save said document in your drive and when you get to class ask the teacher for their computer and simply download the document into it.
Things you can add to Google Drive:
The free version of Google drive allows you up to a 5GB storage, but you can pay and that storage level will increase greatly. Also, a computer is not the only place where you can access Google Drive. If most of the time you are on the go, then you can download the Android Google Drive app or use Safari (in the case of IPods, IPads, and IPhones) and view your documents on a phone or tablet.
How does it work?
All you need to be able to access Google Drive is a Gmail account. If you don't have a Gmail account, then you can create one for free in gmail.com. When you sign in to your gmail account you will see that at the top of the page there are several different options in Google. Click on the one that says Drive and begin your Google Drive experience. You can either create or upload a document. There are two red buttons on the side bar, one off them says create, click on it and see the different types of documents you can create in Google Drive and choose one. Or, you could click on the other red button that has an arrow pointing down, click on that one and upload any file from your computer's archives.

To sum it up:
Google Drive will be helpful in group projects, turning in of projects and homeworks and just, well, basically everything that is assigned in school by our teachers.

Today I learned a few basics about programming and how to use this new website. Also, I learned how to save my project, to give the image a question and reply something when a certain sentence is replied. How to move my image, how to rotate it, et cetera.
The, I learned how to make sounds, and other types of noises be heard.

Today I decided to dedicate my time to researching the different types of degrees and careers they offer at both universities. I discovered that they both offer pretty much the same type of degrees: bachelor's, master's, technical degrees, and some course/programs on a certain area or career.
Some of the careers offered in these colleges that I am interested in include, but are not limited to:

Google Day 3
Goals for the day:
-Add two university to my list of researched universities.
-Research those universities (careers offered).
-Decide which of the two will be added to my final presentation.

I decided to research two new universities and then decide which one i would add to my final list. the two universities that I chose were Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and Universidad de Belgrano. Since my main focus of research is the careers offered in both, I still have no idea what I aspire to be when older, that is exactly what I researched. In the Torcuato Di Tella, they offer careers in Business Economics, Economics, Political Sciences, International Studies, Law, History, and Architecture. In Belgrano, they offer careers in Architecture and Urbanism, Agricultural Sciences, Economic Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering and Informational Technology, Health Sciences, Law and Social Sciences, Human Studies, and Languages and Foreign Studies. I really like the options offered in both universities, but I am leaning more towards the Universidad de Belgrano. The way I see it, that specific university has a wider variety in what they offer, meaning a wider variety in the kind of people you will meet. Besides, engineering, business and relations are what have my focus right now. And since Torcuato Di Tella doesn't offer engineering...
Something to do next class:
Well, this was the last Google Day, so when I finish posting this blog post I will need to start working on my presentation for the first week of June. I still have to decide what 2.0 tool I will use, but I think I am going to go with the one I can actually work on, Prezi. Not very creative, i know, but it is the only one i feel like I have a grasp on and that is certainly a good thing. Even though it might not be the most exciting tool out there, I am going to try and make it as interesting and fun as I can. Add a couple images here, give it a little tricks there, and I haven't decided if there will or will not be music in the presentation. I want to make myself as clear and understandable as possible.

Universities in Buenos Aires
Goals:
-Choose 2 universities to compare.
-Research both universities.
-Decide what aspects I am going to highlight in the comparison.

For my Google 20% Project I decided to compare to universities in Buenos Aires, Argentina, since that is the place where I want to study after I graduate high school.
The two universities I decided to compare are the UADE- Universidad Argentina de la Empresa and the UBA- Universidad de Buenos Aires. My main focuses on this comparison will be the carers they offer and the campus of each university.

While reading the information I discovered some of the people that have attended the universities (Nobel prize winners that studied in said university), study abroad programs available for the students of the university, careers offered in both universities, stay offered, etc.

I don't know anything about the topic and decided to research it precisely for that fact, since I want to learn about something I wasn't familiar with.

Is it really a good service or is it just something to gain more costumers?
