Design Project- Day 3

Choose Phase
1. The descriptions for my game on day one do match my actual game. My game is a simple maze, it is something easy to play, and it is enjoyable. Sine there will be two mazes, they will be the same in size and shape, you will be able to compete with your friends and one of you will be able to win.
2. I think my game is overall good. But the things I really like about it are: the walls, they are sturdy and well-structured. The obstacles, they are good challenges in the game, all that needs to be fixed about them is the definite structure.
3. I don't really think there is a way to simplify the game. It is simple enough as it is, and all there really is, are walls and obstacles. Maybe we can reduce the number of obstacle, but I don't think it is necessary.

Implement Phase
1. All we have to do is build the two mazes, decorate them and glue the obstacles to it. I believe we will use team work to complete all of these tasks, since the prototype maze we built it as a team.
2. Rafael: stick man
    Andrea: paint and marbles
Daniel: stick man and paint brushes

Design Project- Day 2

Prototype Phase
Sophie:
Strengths- simple, easy, accurate, obstacles.
Disadvantages- how will we be able to make the walls thick enough?
Rafael:
Strengths- simple, well structured.
Disadvantages: how will we keep the walls up?
Daniel:
Strengths: good model and idea.
Disadvantages: too simple.
Andrea:
Strengths:
creative and fun looking.
Disadvantages: making the walls would be complicated.

Best option:
Sophie's maze.
Will include:
-obstacles.
-well structured.
-strong structure.
-colorful.
-curves (from Andrea's design).

Picture of the maze:

Good things: It was creative, competitive and well structured.
Improvements: It should be bigger and the obstacles should be improved.

Design Project- Day 1

Daniel - Rafael - Sophie

Define Phase
1. A game for elementary boys and girls.
2. Have a medium difficulty.
3. Colorful, easy to understand, stable, something the children are able to relate to (relating to something they like), difficult, satisfactory.

Research Phase
Videos:
Link 1
In this video we can see an arcade with a few games. Something good would be how uncomplicated and easy to understand they were. But as simple as they were some of them were hard to win and some of the building made the structure weird ans unstable, making it harder to win.
Link 2
In this video we can see a homemade skeeball machine. I think it is a good idea, as it is a popular game in arcades and is easy enough to understand. It doesn't require a person being there to operate it and looks fun enough. The bad side is that the structure doesn't look that strong or long-lasting.

Ideation Phase
Ideas:
-Skeeball
-Maze

Best idea:
Maze
Fun things about it:
-You get to compete against your friends.
-It is something easy and enjoyable.
-You get to win.
Things that could go wrong:
-The maze can break and to solve it we would avoid fragile materials while constructing the maze.
-Bouncy-balls can go missing and to solve it we would have replacement bouncy-balls.
